Goals, Part 4: MANIFEST!

September 25, 2019 Posted by Hannah Boyl health, Life, Motivation

manifest

So far in this series, I’ve explained why goals are important, gave you the steps to create goals, and differentiated between the big goals and the smaller steps you take to get there. Now, I want to share a strategy to increase motivation and confidence in yourself in order to achieve those goals, from the small daily tasks to the larger long term goals.

Dictionary.com defines the verb form of manifest as, “to make clear or evident to the eye or the understanding; to prove; put beyond doubt or question.”

The idea of manifesting something is to bring it into existence. When you manifest a goal, you’re making it clear to the universe that you’re confident in your abilities to be successful.

So how do you do this?

I mentioned in a previous post that you should write your goals down and have them where you can see them daily. This is good to do, not only with your progress goals that you’re working on daily but the bigger picture that you’re working towards as well. I have what may be the most important exam of my life coming up in about 2 weeks and every day I will write down the statement, “I will pass the RD exam” at least twice.

I know simply writing this down isn’t going to change the outcome of my exam without some effort on my part, but writing this daily helps me picture this actually happening and I can become more confident in myself through doing this. Now, this is my big, long-term goal. I do have smaller goals associated with this large goal that I have written down as well. For example, in one of my journals, I have my study plan written out related to how much content I want to get through each week or how many hours I want to spend on studying daily/weekly.

I highly encourage you to place these statements somewhere you can see them daily, but also writing them out so you’re actively putting that positive attitude into the world.

“In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision.”

Here we are at week 2 of my goal setting series.

Last week I asked you to think about goals that you’ve set in the past, if they’ve worked or not, and discovering your “why'“ behind whatever it is that you’re looking to do.

In this week’s post I’m going to give you the bulk of information you need in order to set goals that you’ll be able to realistically attain. Your goals are the first step towards making desirable changes, so do it right!

7 Ways to be Successful with a New Diet Change

Jan 12, 2018

As of next week I’ll be participating in a fairly strict nutrition challenge. Monday is quickly approaching and I slightly began to panic. The nutrition chick, panicking about a nutrition challenge?! Yeah, it’s a thing.

I started thinking of a few things that I knew would be beneficial to do before the challenge started, and then I got to thinking even more... I’m sure other people would find this helpful too, so now, my solution to my own problem has turned into a blog post!
